A rectified soviet list has to be
1) balanced
2) fun to play with and against
3) reasonably historically accurate
4) Not to complicated in terms of special rules etc.

Now lets have a look at the above... with v3 soviets are weaker than ever, that pretty much ruins 1) and 2) unless you happen to like really difficult games or really easy victories. Big simplistic units kind of mess up 2) as well it isn´t terribly fun to play with/ agaist enormous infantry units that can not be pinned down and dont grant you any VP until you have killed more than 25 teams. The same applies to 700 points worth of medium tanks that are unable to perform the roles of medium tanks or the fact where the only reliable answer to enemy heavy tanks is to pretty much make sure that the list is almost solely made up of infantry teams, to name a few.

3) This is where the combined efforts of the BF staff falls well behind anybody with decent knowledge of the eastern front. Let someone with good knowledge review your work before you publish!
